This mist only stays for a short while and then, as the morning sun rises, it silently moves on.\u00a0 Sometimes when I watch the mist I think about the ways that our future is similarly obscured from our view.\u00a0 We get only blurred images of what the future could look like but we can never quite see it clearly.\u00a0 We make choices that influence our future, but we never know for sure where these choices will lead us until the time arrives.\u00a0 What we really have to work with is right now, in this present moment.\u00a0 This mist reminds me to focus on what is right in front of me.\u00a0 For the past is gone and the future is not yet here.\u00a0 So I focus on the present and find joy in each moment as it comes, knowing that this moment is all I truly have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center has-black-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-509952a6680c111ee8e2f0d0e9fd5a8c\">\n\nMorning Mist\r\nBy Krista Longeway\r\n\r\nA silent mist settles over the land\r\nFrom over the water and past the sand\r\nShe drifts gently in from the distant seas\r\nGracefully winding her way through the trees\r\nHer shadowy presence filling the air\r\nWith the wispy tendrils of her long hair\r\nHer visit is brief, for she\u2019ll only stay\r\nUntil morning light ushers her away\r\nShe reluctantly leaves with a gentle sigh\r\nTo lose herself \u2018tween the waves and the sky\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some mornings I awake to a world blanketed in mist.\u00a0 This mist rolls in off the sea and winds its way through the trees, obscuring my view so that all I can see is a blur behind the haze.
