In many ways, fall is a time of change. The green leaves of summer turn to crimson and gold as nature prepares for winter and the colder weather yet to come.\u00a0 As a teacher and mother, I find that with fall comes a new school year, new people, new circumstances and new expectations.\u00a0 Sometimes I resist these changes.\u00a0 I settle into the comfort of the familiar and I don\u2019t want things to be different. Yet change is an inevitable part of life.\u00a0 As time passes, the sun rises and sets, people come and go, children grow, parents age, circumstances change, and our lives evolve into something new and different.\u00a0 Sometimes I need to be reminded that change can be beautiful and exciting. There is a world yet to explore and so much life yet to live. Although it is important to appreciate life as it is in the present moment, it is also necessary to look towards the future with hope for what tomorrow will bring.\u00a0 I wrote this poem to remind myself that there is much yet to look forward to.\u00a0 Change will come and with it will come many new and beautiful things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n



Tomorrow\u2019s Gifts<\/strong>

There are stars you haven\u2019t seen,
And places you haven\u2019t been.
There is birdsong yet to hear,
And loves that you will hold dear.

There are dreams you haven\u2019t dreamed,
And moonbeams that haven\u2019t gleamed.
There is sunshine yet to glow,
And sweet flowers yet to grow.

There are words you\u2019ve yet to say,
And music you\u2019ve yet to play.
Waves that haven\u2019t touched the shore,
There\u2019s so much yet to explore.

There are winds that haven\u2019t blown,
And people you haven\u2019t known.
There are songs you\u2019ve yet to sing.
What gifts will tomorrow bring?
