My mind is a busy place.\u00a0 So many memories, worries, plans and regrets cloud my thoughts that it can be difficult to find peace. Because of this, there are a few moments in particular that stand out in my memories as being ones in which I felt free to just quietly exist. These moments usually occur when I am alone in nature.\u00a0 I have a strong memory that I hold dearly of one such moment in time.\u00a0 I am standing beside a small pond. \u00a0Above me, tall trees sway overhead, leaves whispering a song in the breeze.\u00a0 At my feet, delicate ferns reach their arms towards the still water.\u00a0 The water\u2019s surface, clear as glass, reflecting back an image of the trees above and the dappled light that filters down through the branches.\u00a0 I remember looking up through the branches towards the sky, soaking in the sights and sounds of this quiet oasis where time seems to stand still.\u00a0 In this place, my thoughts are finally quiet, and it is in this moment that I can begin to dream again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-black-color has-vivid-green-cyan-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-2 is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quiet Reverie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">By Krista Longeway<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">As the breezes gently pass<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Over waters still as glass<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Ferns reach out their long green fronds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Touch the surface of the pond<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Dappled light and soft shadow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Water\u2019s mirror down below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Looking up through hanging leaves<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Dancing gently in the breeze<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Whispering a gentle song<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Cheerful birds now sing along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">When all else is left behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Gentle dreams can fill my mind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is a rare moment in time when my thoughts are quiet enough to set my dreams free.
