In this poem, I have attempted to describe this feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>Dusk Falls<\/strong>\r\nBy Krista Longeway\r\n\r\nSlowly the light fades \r\nand gently dusk settles in around us,\r\nwrapping us in her arms like a mother\r\ncradling her infant protectively.\r\nAbove, the skies are filled with a soft darkness.\r\nA rounded moon sits just above the distant hills,\r\nlooking down on the earth with a knowing smile.\r\nThe bare branches of the oaks stretch upwards,\r\nsilhouetted black against the inky blue of a night sky.\r\nThe lights from distant windows \r\nare scattered across the hillside,\r\nbringing to mind the tinkling of children\u2019s laughter \r\nand the patter of small feet on the stairs;\r\nechoes of days gone by.\r\nIn the stillness \r\nI feel the rhythm of the waves upon the shore.  \r\nThe heartbeat of the sea \r\nlulling my mind into a peaceful calm \r\nthat settles over me\r\nlike a warm blanket in the cool night air.  \r\nIn the hush of this moment\r\nI am at peace within myself\r\nand all is right with the world.\r\n\r\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are certain times of day that I find magical.\u00a0 Dusk is one of those moments.\u00a0 When the sun has gone down beyond the horizon and everything becomes still and quiet.\u00a0 The busyness of the world has faded and we settle in towards a time of rest.\u00a0 Some nights I sit by my fire and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"off","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1,6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-577","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","category-quiet-reflection"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 -
