Each year, I watch as the leaves change to the brilliant colours of autumn, then flutter through the air when the breeze blows through the branches. &nbsp;I love the autumn colours and the musty smell of the leaves as they crunch under my feet.&nbsp; These things remind me of my childhood, and the fun I have had with my own children, playing and jumping in piles of leaves.&nbsp; In this season I marvel at the beauty around me, noticing that even as the trees shed their leaves, they are giving us a gift\u2026. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center has-white-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-to-vivid-red-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\"><strong>The Leaf<\/strong>\nBy Krista Longeway\n\nSlowly, sunny Summer days melt\nInto the cool evenings of Autumn,\nTurning all that was once green\nTo crimson and gold upon the branch.\nThe little leaf waits eagerly. \nThen, when she is ready,\nShe catches the tail of the wind\nAnd is whisked from the safety of the tree.\nThe little leaf is lifted into the air\nTurning this way, then that,\nShe flutters to the ground.\nJoining her friends, she waits\nFor the frost to come.\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever stopped to watch as a single leaf breaks free from the branch and drifts on the breeze?
