The shadows lengthen and the sun ignites the trees and flowers in a gentle golden glow. Some call it the Golden Hour.\u00a0 At this time of day, the breeze becomes still, as though the earth is holding its breath and patiently waiting for the coming night.\u00a0 This is, by far, my favourite time of day \u2013 perfect for long evening strolls and quiet contemplation. This is also often thought of as the best time to take nature photos, for the light has a unique quality to it that allows us to see the world in a different way.\u00a0 Though it often feels too short, there is joy in the sun\u2019s passing. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-left has-black-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\">                     <strong>The Golden Hour<\/strong>\n                   By Krista Longeway\n\r\nThe sun slips towards the dark horizon,\r\nPainting the sky with orange and crimson,\r\nShadows slowly lengthen as dusk draws nigh,\r\nBlurring the lines between the earth and sky,\r\nAnd all the world takes on a golden hue,\r\nTurning the familiar to something new,\r\nIgniting a glow in tree and flower.\r\nIt is during this fleeting Golden Hour,\r\nThat even the sound of the summer breeze, \r\nIs calm and still in the tops of the trees,\r\nAs though \u2018twas holding its breath all along,\r\nWaiting patiently for the cricket\u2019s song,\r\nTo signal that the night has come at last.\r\nThe gentle glow is gone, the hour has passed.\r\nThere is joy in the setting of the sun,\r\nYet too soon the sun\u2019s Golden Hour is done.\r\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a brief moment in the day just before dusk where the light changes.
