{"id":888,"date":"2022-12-24T13:30:51","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T13:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/?p=888"},"modified":"2022-12-24T13:31:30","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T13:31:30","slug":"advent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/?p=888","title":{"rendered":"Advent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Advent-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Advent-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Advent-980x980.jpg 980w, https:\/\/krista.longeway.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Advent-480x480.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">I find it difficult to put my finger on a clear description of each of the advent principles on which our faith is built: hope, peace, joy, and love.\u00a0 Yet if we consider each one individually, we can see that Christ embodies each one of them.\u00a0 Through his greatest act of sacrificial love, Christ died for us.\u00a0 And in that single act, we were given HOPE for a better life yet to come\u2026 for we were given an eternal life spent in the Father\u2019s presence.\u00a0 In that single act we were shown that PEACE can be accomplished even amidst the most hostile events\u2026 for even in the midst of conflict, Christ found a way to bring peace to the world.\u00a0 In that single act we were shown that JOY can be found even in the most difficult circumstances\u2026for although Christ died and there was great sadness, he rose again on the third day.\u00a0 In that single act we were shown that true LOVE is sacrificial\u2026 for Christ gave us everything when he gave up his life for us.\u00a0 Although we light a candle for each of these things individually, each time we light a candle, we are remembering Christ in the principles we were taught through his teachings and his life\u2019s example.\u00a0 Christ is hope, Christ is peace, Christ is joy and Christ is love.
