Holidays have a way of creating a mix of emotions for many people.  This season is one of joy with a tinge of sadness for me.  While I am filled with gratitude for the wonderful people in my life, I also feel the loss of my mother on this holiday.  Nevertheless, I feel joy and gratitude this holiday season.  For I have many happy memories of Christmases spent with my mom, and we continue to make happy memories with those who are still here with us.

My parents used to host a Christmas dinner at our church for the lonely hearts who no longer had anyone to celebrate the holidays with.  I always saw this as a thoughtful gesture of love towards others, but now I see how very important it must have been to some people.  I wish blessings for you this holiday season. Whether you have many people to celebrate with or only a few, I wish that this holiday is a season where you can celebrate with happy hearts and the knowledge that you are loved.
