The first winter snowfall brings back such happy memories for me. Memories of playing outside with my children, cheeks rosy and breath forming frosty clouds as we laugh and call out to one another. Memories of rolling big balls of snow to form snowmen, packing piles of snow together to build icy forts, and sliding down hills on a toboggan. The first snowfall is especially magical, and each winter I look forward to watching the snowflakes fall from the sky as I sit by my fireplace looking out the window, dreaming happily of days gone by.
Winter Fun By Krista Longeway The comfort of a hot mug of cocoa Held in my hands on a cold winter’s day Beyond my window streets are piled with snow While curled up here at fireside I stay Beyond my window children laugh with glee Playing and sliding in the snow outside Inviting their friends to play joyously While over the cold ice and snow they glide Soon children will come in chilly and wet Looking for warmth and their own steaming mug Telling tales of fun they had when they met The snowmen they built and the holes they dug At this time I am happy and content To watch the snow fall from my chair inside Listening to the children tell where they went And enjoying the warmth at fireside
