Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
I watched a video recently that really spoke to me. I had to watch it twice to fully understand its meaning. It started by describing the ways that we are highly motivated to do things that really matter to us and we will push through great difficulties if they are truly important. When you get knocked down, you get back up again because your heart is in it. The example that they gave was a parent who works hard to provide for their family despite difficulties or setbacks. They know that their family needs them so they persevere despite these difficulties. In the same way, God wants us to seek Him with this level of persistence and determination. He wants us to seek Him with our whole heart. This video made me pause and reflect on times when I pushed through and made sacrifices in order to get where I am now. At the same time, I realised that God isn’t asking us to sacrifice our happiness in order to follow Him. I believe that He wants to be a part of that happiness… He wants to be the thing that brings a smile to our face and joy to our life. So I encourage you to seek out the ways that your faith can bring joy to yourself and those around you. Strive to pursue God with the same level of persistence that has been your motivation for other things that are important in your life. Remove the distractions from your life, answer His call, and pursue God with your whole heart.
The Call By Krista Longeway As we wander along life’s path The Lord gently pulls our hearts in And each little step that we take We slowly draw closer to Him We will hear our true life’s calling And our real journey will begin For we know that above all else The Lord desires our whole heart His hand is always reaching out He has been calling from the start If we follow His quiet voice We’ll never have to be apart The Lord is always there beside us Even when we stumble and fall So I listen for His steady voice Come what may and throughout it all I put aside all distractions And faithfully answer His call
