Lamentations 3:21-23

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

There is something unique and hopeful about the season of spring.  The earth comes alive again after a long winter’s slumber and our hearts rejoice as we watch nature bring forth new life.  Flowers emerge from ground that was once covered in snow, gently brought forth by sun and soft rains.  Birds chirp from the treetops, announcing spring with their cheerful song.  It is out in the garden that I sense a chance to begin again… a fresh start with renewed energy and hope.   As I sit and reflect on the beauties of spring, I am reminded that each day with Jesus can be like this.  Every morning we are washed clean of any mistakes of the day before and have the chance to begin anew. So as you enjoy the beauties of spring, use this as an opportunity to begin a new chapter in your life.  I wonder, what will you put aside in this season of your life in order to begin again?

Morning Blessings

Morning sunlight pours in through open window panes
The warmth of a new day dispelling nighttime rains
I am greeted by the sweetness of robin’s song
With joy in my heart I silently sing along

Outside the early snowdrops and daffodils grow
Then the crocuses and tulips begin to show
Cherry blossoms adorn the branches of each tree
Their sweet fragrance drifting down on the breeze to me

My heart rejoices as I begin this new day
Where I see nature’s beauty out here on display
All around me I see signs of God’s perfect love
Morning blessings sent down to earth from God above
