Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
In Mark 11 we are instructed to pray and thank God as though what we have been asking for has already been given. That sounds simple, but when you get right down to it, this requires a lot of faith. Faith that God hears our prayers and knows our hearts. Faith that God will choose to give us the answers and requests that we ask for as we pour out our cares to Him. I want to be that person who has unwavering faith. I want to believe that all I need to do is ask and it will be given to me. But a part of me struggles to believe that whatever my heart wants will be granted. I know that God has the power to make anything happen if he chooses to. Yet sometimes what we want and what we need are two different things. God has His reasons for answering some prayers and not others, though I may not understand it. So my greatest prayer is that my heart is in tune with God’s will and that my hopes and requests are pleasing to Him. When I pray this prayer I am choosing to trust in God’s perfect plan.
Believe By Krista Longeway I kneel and gently fold my hands in prayer Then I close my eyes and lay my soul bare My whispered hopes and fears are all laid out For God to clearly see and hear about I do this even though I’m sure it’s true That He knows my heart and already knew All I would ask before I said amen I try to trust and believe once again That what I ask for will now come to pass For the Bible says I just have to ask So I quietly thank God even though I have great faith but I don’t really know If my prayers are now in line with God’s will Yet I kneel down and thank him even still
