It is so easy to get caught up in our day-to-day happenings and forget to reach out to others with the words that we say.  Yet kind words have the power to bring hope to another in ways that we might not even imagine.  Think about the last time someone said something truly encouraging to you.  Do you remember how this made you feel?  Did it alter the course of your day in a positive way?  Words have immense power and it can be surprising how big a difference a kind or encouraging word can make.  So reach out to those you encounter during your day and spread hope through the words that you say. For just as the seeds from a wildflower spread in the wind, so too can our words plant hope and joy that are passed on from one person to another.

Sprinkle words of encouragement throughout your day
For you can bless others with the words that you say
Just as the robin’s song calls out for all to hear
Now cheerily greeting everyone who is near

Your words of encouragement may plant the small seeds
Of hope that someone near to you desperately needs
And these seeds that you sow may one day grow to be
A beautiful flower for all the world to see

These flowers of hope will in time create new seeds
A small breath of wind is really all that they need
To travel to new places that are near and far
Gently spreading their beauty wherever they are

Speak words of encouragement wherever you can
For your kindness will spread out from where it began
So water the world with kindness like a spring rain
That makes the whole world blossom with hope once again
