In life, it is easy to feel alone in our troubles.  For no matter how close another person is to us, no one can fully understand our experiences and how it feels to live our lives.  Yet we know from scripture that we are not alone.  Our Father God knows our every thought and emotion.  Throughout our days, no matter how far we travel or where we go in life, God is there with us.  His ever-present hand is guiding our ways and providing us with strength and support.  Though at times we may walk a path that few others understand, we are never alone in our struggles.  So when I awake at night, feeling lost and alone, I reach out to God and am comforted by the thought that He is there beside me.  When I stumble and fall, God catches me in His arms and guides me along the way.  When I celebrate with joy, He is there celebrating with me.  Whether it is dark or light, God is there with me, guiding me along the paths of life.

Thou Art There with Me Lord

If I ride the sweet wings of the morning,
The first golden rays of dawn, adorning
The sky with the colours of rising sun.
New light shines on the distant horizon,
Then rises up to fill the world with light.
‘Till sun sets and the stars come out at night,
Thou art there with me Lord.

And if I dwell by the farthest of seas,
Beyond the great mountains and deep valleys,
Through the thick forests and wide-open plains, 
Over the rolling hills and fields of grains,
Beyond vast lands and deep waters below. 
Yet no matter how very far I go,
Thou art there with me Lord.

No matter if it is the day or night,
Whether sky is filled with darkness or light,
No matter where I am in all the earth,
From the very first moment of my birth, 
‘Till my last breath at the end of my days.
Even there your hand will guide my ways
And your strength will support me Lord.
