Do you think in pictures or in words? I often wonder if it is the same for me and you. A lot of the time I think in words, which helps me to make sense of my thoughts. Yet there is a struggle that rages deep within me that is hard to put into words. It is a constant barrage of thoughts that I strive to chase out of my mind. Images and feelings that I can’t quite put my finger on, nor can I put words to these thoughts. As I fight this battle deep in the silent chambers of my soul, I feel lost and confused. I feel like I need to tame these thoughts, for there always seems to be so much at stake – my hope, my happiness, my peace of mind. Yet I know that through it all, God is there fighting beside me… giving me the courage I need to fight through my struggles. In the end, God will light the way.
Silent Chambers of the Soul -Krista Longeway A constant surge of thoughts swirls in my head So many words that often go unsaid I fight a battle that no one else sees A struggle that can bring me to my knees Deep in the silent chambers of my soul I fight against the pictures in my mind As I put on the mask I hide behind I try to make sense of the things I see A narrative that must not define me As I battle in the chambers of my soul So back and forth they battle to the death Till I am left trying to catch my breath It always seems like there’s so much at stake Will I then tame these thoughts or will I break? Deep in the silent chambers of my soul Yet there is light within these battles fought A spark of hope within each trembling thought I reach for that which helps me to defend I wonder who will win this in the end? As I battle in the chambers of my soul God is the light that helps me through it all God is the hope that helps me not to fall I put my trust in what I know is true And with this hope I finally fight through The battle that rages deep in my soul
