Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
We all have moments in our past that we regret. Times when we said something we wish we could take back, choices we’ve made that in retrospect we wish we had chosen differently. Looking backwards it is often easy to see where we went wrong. Yet it does us no good to look backwards. While it is important for us to learn from our mistakes, it is just as important for us to not allow ourselves to get stuck in the past. The journey that counts is the one you are travelling now, in this present moment. This is the time when you have the opportunity to make new choices. This is the time where you live your life. So I encourage you to try to focus your eyes on the journey that is ahead. For there is still so much more to come. So much to enjoy and so much to be grateful for. When we focus on the present moment in this way, we can find purpose and joy in our everyday lives. Though at times it can be hard, trust in the God that will guide you gently by the hand and he will make your paths straight.
The Climb
By Krista Longeway
Looking at the journey that is my life
The peaks of joy and valleys full of strife
The winding paths that lead me to this place
Where sun and moon shine on my upturned face
There is still so much more for me to see
Though what I’ll find there is a mystery
Yet even as I aim for distant peaks
It is the present moment that I seek
For when I focus on the beauty here
Blossoms of joy and purpose will appear
And if you walk beside me for a time
It no longer feels like an uphill climb
So with gratitude I fix my eyes on
The sun rising beyond the horizon
And climb a little more every day
Towards that peak whatever comes my way
