As winter sets in and the nights grow longer, we turn towards the sources of light in our lives. We light fires in the fireplace, we put up holiday lights, we celebrate winter by shining light into the darkness. Light is used throughout the world as a...

Quiet Reverie

by Krista | August 30, 2026 | Poetry Blog, Quiet Reflection, Summer, The Forest | 0 Comments

It is a rare moment in time when my thoughts are quiet enough to set my dreams free. My mind is a busy place. So many memories, worries, plans and regrets cloud my thoughts that it can be difficult to find peace. Because of this, there are a few moments in particular...

When You Leave a Beautiful Place

by Krista | July 24, 2026 | Poetry Blog | 0 Comments

There are many beautiful places in the world. Too many to count, for sure. Yet, over the years I have learned that you don’t need to travel far from home in order to come across a beautiful place. As a child, my family often travelled west to a small stand of...

I Will Love You Always

by Krista | May 6, 2026 | Poetry Blog | 0 Comments

Three years ago today my dear mother passed away. Sometimes it still feels like only yesterday. No matter how much time passes, she continues to be an intricate part of my being. I wish I could tell her how much I think of her, how much I love her, how much a part...

The Breath of Spring

by Krista | May 2, 2026 | Hope, New Beginnings, Poetry Blog, Spring, The Garden | 0 Comments

The beauty of a spring morning is hard to put into words. Try as I might to capture the sights and sounds and smells of spring, words are not adequate to describe the joy I feel during a walk on a spring-time morning. Yet I strive to explain my experiences in an...

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. We all have moments in our past that we regret. Times when we said something we wish we could take...

Dancing in the Wind

by Krista | October 19, 2025 | Autumn, Poetry Blog, The Forest | 1 Comment

When I think of autumn, I am filled with many happy memories. Memories of childhood days spent raking leaves and jumping in the huge piles with my brothers and sister. Memories of long drives through the countryside, admiring the poplar leaves as they turn golden in...

Nature’s Embrace

by Krista | July 6, 2025 | Poetry Blog, Quiet Reflection, Summer, The Garden | 0 Comments

Sometimes when I go out into nature, I feel as if I am walking out into a completely separate and protected world. It is as though all else just fades away and all I am left with is this one moment in time. I put aside all the worries and concerns of the day and...

Give it Away

by Krista | June 29, 2025 | Friends and Family, Hope, Poetry Blog | 0 Comments

Ever wonder about the meaning of life? I have thought about this a lot over the years. It’s a complicated question that most people don’t have a good answer for. Why are we on this earth? What are we supposed to do while we’re here? Is there a purpose in all of the...

The Breath of Spring

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?..." Isiah 43:18-19 The beauty of a spring morning is hard to put into words. Try as I might to capture the sights and sounds and smells...

Proverbs 30:4-5 “Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name—and his son’s name? Tell me if you...
